Mr Kelvin Chong is a specialist oncoplastic breast surgeon who works with an experienced team of professionals. Mr Chong and his multidisciplinary team meets every Wednesday to review results of all patients and propose a treatment plan for each of his patients. The MDT meetings aim to recommend a treatment plan suitable for each individual patient’s breast cancer type (histology), health status, background and patient preference.

Mr Chong is a dedicated breast cancer surgeon with a focus on oncoplastic procedures. This allows both cancer removal treatment and plastics to combine in a way that helps ensure the breast is not overly compromised throughout the management of the disease. Mr Chong graduated from Glasgow University and carried out significant time in clinical research at St George’s Hospital, London. He also holds a postgraduate certificate in breast ultrasonography.

Mr Chong specialises in oncoplastic surgery that combines breast surgery to remove tumours and cancerous cells whilst also carrying out some cosmetics and plastics. Drug Treatments

Anti-cancer medicines such as chemotherapy that destroys cancer cells may be part of your treatment plan. Your care team may also offer hormone therapies or targeted biological treatments that target specific tumours.

Radiotherapy

Radiotherapy can destroy cancer cells that remain after surgery. It is often included as a precautionary treatment but can be vital in ensuring all cells are killed. While all patients don’t require radiotherapy, it is often recommended.
